Rising Temperatures: The Role of Art in a Frayed World

Rising Temperatures: the role of art in a frayed world was held on 5th November 2019 in collaboration with Yo-Yo Ma’s Bach Project as part of MOMENTUM, presented in Blak Box.  Moderated by Blak Box MOMENTUM Curator Daniel Browning, poets, artists and activists; Evelyn Araluen, Joel Davison, Eric Avery and Kirli Saunders discussed the ways in which art intersects with social agency and the challenges ahead, articulating what it means to make art and tell stories at this crucial moment in time.  The event also featured a guest solo and collaborative performances by Eric Avery and Yo-Yo Ma, as well as poetry readings by Evelyn Araluen, Joel Davison and Kirli Saunders.
