Dream Sequence: Enoch Mailangi

Episode 5 of Dream Sequence questions the intersections between Australia’s austerity and consumer culture rage, using displacement and the edged landscapes of colonial new media as its point of entry.

Strawberry Kisses is a two-hander which utilises the labour of coding and the aesthetics of paid content promotion to reflect on the 2018 Australian Food Crisis, and its subsequent nation-wide recall of strawberries.

With the capitalist hellscape broadening, Enoch wonders “at the end, could we have reimagined our world easier if the workers put more needles in products?”

Enoch Mailangi is a screenwriter, director, and absolute gossip based in Lakemba. An MFA graduate in writing for performance at NIDA, their practice primarily explores the intersections between Indigenous politics, the gay establishment, and comedy.
