who is ready for another world, our 2025 provocation considers this moment of collective grief, models of collective liberation and resistance to settler-colonialism.
Hear from our Co-Artistic Directors speaking about the provocation.
Drawing from a quote by Rasha Abdulhadi on X, "These are clarifying times, if we are willing to pay attention. If our hearts break let them break outwards into action. Let us practise being brave together today. We can notice, if we pay attention, who wants representation in empire and who is ready for another world."
Rasha Abdulhadi (they/them) is a queer Palestinian Southerner, a poet and cultural organiser disabled by Long Covid. “As a genderqueer person, I do enjoy pulling a habibx on Twitter/X given its official owner's violently anti-trans positions & harassments. I use Palestinian Southerner to indicate a non-settler relationship to the land I'm currently on. It is an intentional counter to ‘Palestinian American’ framings that seek to enlist us in empire, and honors multiple Souths –regional, global, cultural, speculative.”

Artwork Statement:
‘Inspired by the quote “Who is ready for another world?” by Rasha Abdulhadi, this design reflects the liminal space between grief and renewal. Clouds gather as both witnesses and messengers, holding the weight of the past while breathing new life through their endless cycle. As they shift and transform, they carry the promise of a reimagined future, reminding us that change is continuous. The interplay of light and form invites us to embrace action, hope and the possibility of transformation, as we too cycle toward a new world.
A leaf unfolds where struggle grew,
Veins of light thread something new.
Each edge a story,each vein a line,
Tracing the path to the sublime.
The winds whisper, the earth replies: “Through pain, we learn; through loss, we rise.
A world remade is forged with care,
Each step a promise, each breath a prayer.
