Co-host June Hickey and UTP’s Artistic Director Rosie Dennis will kick off NSW Seniors Festival in Parramatta with a talk show with a difference. Think Jimmy Fallon, The Variety Hour and The Footy Show rolled into one and you have the beginnings of Talk Show.
Talk Show is light and funny, but touches on deeper issues and current affairs. June and Rosie are celebrating this year’s Seniors Festival with a special edition of the show dedicated entirely to inspiring seniors who challenge stereotypes about older people in our community.
Confirmed guests are Sandra Ross from 2GB’s The Garden Clinic. Horticulturist, rose-lover and teacher, Sandra is a great source of inspiration to co-host June, who listens to The Garden Clinic religiously. Also on the line up is Beatriz Occhiuzzi, director of Salsa4Seniors, a hugely popular program offered across Western Sydney, who has taught and performed Latin dance in both Australia and overseas. Our final guest, Robyn Schmitz, is a Wadjuri woman who has lived in Padstow for 60 years, is an active member of local community and has recently started writing professionally.
