dyanmila Studio Space Expressions of Interest

Utp and Outloud are seeking expressions of interest from artists and creatives who reside in Western Sydney to be part of our new joint initiative, the dyanmila* Studio Space. With an offer of two months in a rent-free space, the dyanmila Studio is ideal for someone (or a duo) who wants to develop a new project or body of work and would like a dedicated space in a supportive environment with feedback from leaders in the industry.

*A Darug word meaning play

The dyanmila Studio Space provides individual or collectives with:

  • Two months of rent free space at Bankstown Arts Centre
  • Weekly 1 hour one-on-one mentorship with either Outloud or Utp
  • At the end of the first month, the opportunity to have a showing of your work with internal staff
  • At the end of the second month, the opportunity to have a showing of your work with internal staff/invited audience/industry professionals
  • Access to printer/photocopier
  • Amenities

We're looking for visual artists with a digital practice, sound designers, writers, editors, film makers, community producers, directors or other creatives with a desk based practice.

About Outloud

Outloud is an intersectional, CALD-focused social impact arts organisation that creates genuine, meaningful, inspiring opportunities for young people in Western Sydney.

Their award-winning projects address nationally relevant issues that are affecting young people in Western Sydney. They use community-embedded contemporary arts to drive positive change for young people with best practice, evidence-based programs that are fun and inspiring. They specialise in early-intervention harm-reduction that celebrates strengths and amplifies socially-marginalised young people’s thoughts and ideas. They put a spotlight on global issues that are affecting our local young people and amplify their thoughts and ideas. They elevate skills and confidence and aim to build self-efficacy and social cohesion. 

Program Details

Residency Length – 2 months

Studio Hours – 9am - 6pm, Monday - Friday (although different work arrangements might be possible)

Fees – free

Location – Bankstown Arts Centre
