In his new work 5 Arrows, Christopher Gurusamy fuses Bharathanatyam with his biracial queer perspective.
Accompanied by an ensemble of live musicians, this improvised performance recontextualises his classical Indian dance practice to chronicle love, lust and longing.
Based on Mohamana, an iconic piece of Carnatic (Southern Indian) art music from Tamil Nadu, 5 Arrows oscillates between lyrical dance and abstract physical movement.
